Futures of Architectural Exhibition has been selected as a winner of the American Institute of Graphic Arts' (AIGA) 50 Books | 50 Covers of 2022 competition. The book was coedited and designed by Associate Professor Reto Geiser through MG&Co, a Houston-based, collaborative design practice founded by Geiser and Noemi Mollet.

The AIGA 50 Books | 50 Covers competition recognizes the best of book and book cover design from around the world. This survey of book design represents the longest-standing legacy in American graphic design. Beginning in 1923, the Fifty Books of the Year competition was a yearly mainstay of AIGA. With 487 book and cover design entries from 27 countries, this year’s AIGA competition recognizes and showcases excellence in book design from around the world.

This year's AIGA jurors included Andrew Satake Blauvelt, Director, Cranbrook Art Museum (Chair), Rob Giampietro, Creative Director, Renata Graw, Founder, Normal, Ramon Tejada, Designer and Assistant Professor, Graphic Design Department, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Xiaoqing Wang, Art Director, Green Dragon Office. The juror comments noted, "On the cover, the line, stroke, long hyphen in the middle of “Architectural” opens up the space needed to examine the theme. The combination of the book's small form and large type achieves for me a heightened intimacy. The accomplished list of contributors present within this volume makes the choice of typesetting that much more enjoyable, the reader feels at ease as they engage with these impressive voices.”

The 2022 winning selections will become part of the AIGA collection at the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University’s Butler Library in the city of New York.
