Rice Architecture

Rice School of Architecture is thrilled to announce the digital archive for CITE: The Architecture and Design Review of Houston. For more than 40 years, CITE has been a cornerstone of architecture and design discourse, offering a rich tapestry of reviews, interviews, and thought-provoking essays. This extensive archive is publicly accessible online, providing a treasure trove of insights and discussions that have shaped Houston’s urban and architectural landscape. Dive into decades of critical analysis, vibrant photo essays, and more, and join us in continuing a conversation that drives meaningful change in our cities. Individual articles are available for most issues. When possible, full copies of the magazine are also available. Explore the fully digitized collection of 40 years of CITE magazine here.

The physical archive of CITE is hosted on the campus of Rice University’s Woodson Research Center Special Collections & Archives and is open to the public for research. The mission of the Woodson Research Center, like that of its parent body, the Fondren Library of Rice University, is to support the institutional, research, and public service programs of the university. Woodson collects, organizes, preserves, and describes Rice University archives, rare books, and special collections.

Fondren Library is open to the public for research. Original archival collections and rare books can be used in the Woodson Reading Room located on the first floor of the Fondren Library [map]. Please contact staff at woodson@rice.edu or 713-348-2586 for reading room appointments or to inquire about long-distance research assistance. To view its complete digital and digitized collections online, please visit digitalcollections.rice.edu.

Rice School of Architecture extends special thanks to the staff of Fondren Library for their help and support in archiving this project.
